#theGAC CROSS COUNTRY WEEK SIX RUNNERS OF THE WEEK

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s weekly awards for the sixth week of the cross country season. East Central’s Larry Filer won the Men’s honor and Oklahoma Baptist’s Sydney Lawrence received the Women’s award.
GAC MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Larry Filer, East Central, Jr., Wschowa, Poland
Filer claimed his third GAC Runner of the Week award of the season after he turned in the top finish for the Tigers at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational. He finished fourth out of 116 participants with a time of 25:59.06. He helped the Tigers to a second-place finish in the 13-team field.
GAC WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Sydney Lawrence, Oklahoma Baptist, Sr., Stilwell, Oklahoma
Lawrence placed second, first amongst Division II competitors, in a field of 158 runners at the OBU Invitational. She finished in a time of 18:24.34 to lead the Lady Bison to a team title on their home course. She earned her second GAC Runner of the Week accolade of the fall season.
