SHAWNEE, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist’s Hannah White scored two minutes into overtime to give the Lady Bison a 3-2 win against Southwestern Oklahoma State in the Great American Conference Women’s Soccer Championship title contest on Saturday from the OBU Soccer Complex.

White put home a corner kick sent in by Jennifer Goethe to clinch the title for the Lady Bison (15-4-1). The tally represented her league-leading fifth game-winning goal of the season. Oklahoma Baptist finished the season 13-0-1 against GAC competition.

Oklahoma Baptist had to rally from a brief one-goal deficit. After the Lady Bisons’ Kelsey Bumgarner scored in the 13th minute, the SWOSU (13-5-1) tandem of Sandra Nabweteme and Alimata Rabo had each scored to give the Bulldogs a short-lived 2-1 lead. In the 52nd minute Tori Kitchel took a couple of dribbles to her left and beat Bulldog keeper Steffi Silvera with a shot to the lower right corner.

In the 77th minute, Lady Bison keeper Emily Griffith kept the score tied when she came off of her line to stop a one-on-one chance from Rabo. She made four of her six saves in the final 15 minutes of action.

Kerregan Edwards earned Tournament MVP honors. White, Hannah Evans, Emmily Infante and Goethe also represented the Lady Bison on the All-Tournament Team. Rabo, Erica Brunet and Ashlyn Collier made the team for the Bulldogs. Harding’s Bethany Sutherland and Sierra Phillips and Ouachita’s Shannon Stribling and Erin Webster rounded out the team.
