GAC TENNIS WEEKLY AWARDS (MARCH 21)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s seventh weekly awards for the tennis season. Harding’s Alejandro Sendra captured the Men’s award and Arkansas Tech’s Julia Schoch earned the Women’s honor.
GAC MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Alejandro Sendra, Harding, So., Valencia, Spain
Sendra helped Harding earn a victory against No. 16 Northwest Missouri State by picking up wins at No. 1 doubles and at No. 2 singles. In his singles match, he beat Rahul Manoah, the Central Region’s seventh-ranked player. The win represented the first victory against the Bearcats since 1987 and the highest-ranked opponent Harding men's tennis has ever defeated.
GAC WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Julia Schoch, Arkansas Tech, Fr., Montreal, Canada
Schoch posted a 3-0 doubles record and added two singles wins. In a 7-2 GAC win vs Southern Nazarene, Schoch and Katie Harris scored a 9-7 victory and she added a straight-sets singles win. The tandem won 8-5 and she notched a straight-set singles win vs Northwest Missouri State. Against West Alabama, Schoch and Harris earned their fourth-straight doubles win.
