D2CCA NAMES 10 FROM GAC TO ALL-REGION TEAM

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Southern Arkansas’ Brook Goad and Victoria Taylor headlined the 2018 Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) All-Central Region Team as its Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year. 
 
Monday’s announcement included 24 student-athletes from 16 institutions within the NCAA Division II Central Region that includes Great American Conference (GAC), the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
 
A total of 14 members are included in both the first team and second team with Southern Arkansas leading the region with four first team honorees.   The Lady Muleriders were followed by Winona State who had three, and Minnesota-Duluth with two selections.
 
Programs from the NSIC led the region with 11 overall selections with seven First Team members, the GAC was just behind with ten honorees and six on the First Team.  In the MIAA, there were seven All-Region selections and one member earning First Team recognition.  
 
Each member of the first-team All-Central Region squad will join first-team members from each of the other seven regions on the ballot for the D2CAA All-America Team. The teams are voted on by the members of the NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.
