RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s women’s soccer awards for the final week of the 2019 regular season. Southwestern Oklahoma State swept the accolades as Sandra Nabweteme, Elizabeth Moreno and Kirstyn Dill won the Offensive, Defender and Goalkeeper honors, respectively.
GAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Sandra Nabweteme, Southwestern Oklahoma State, F, Sr., Kampala, Uganda
Nabweteme capped her stellar senior campaign with her fifth-straight GAC weekly award. She posted the seventh hat trick of her career in a 4-0 win against Southern Nazarene. She broke the school and GAC record for goals in a career with 76 as she surpassed mark of 74 set by her former teammate, Alimata Rabo.
GAC DEFENDER OF THE WEEK – Elizabeth Moreno, Southwestern Oklahoma State, G, Fr., Allen, Texas
Moreno anchored a Bulldog back line that did not surrender a single goal to either Southern Nazarene or Oklahoma Baptist. On Thursday, the Crimson Storm mustered only three shots on goal in a 4-0 SWOSU victory. The Bulldog defense finished the regular season with the top goals-against average in the GAC, 0.96.
GAC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK – Kirstyn Dill, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Fr., Austin, Texas
Dill posted consecutive clean sheets as the Bulldogs secured their fourth GAC regular-season title. Against Southern Nazarene, she made six saves in the 4-0 victory. With the regular-season title and the No. 1 seed at stake against Oklahoma Baptist, she made a season-high 11 saves in the 0-0 draw with the Bison. She finished the season with a leading-leading six shutouts.
