EL DORADO, Ark. – Junior Roman Timmerman shaved four strokes off of his round one score as he fired a one-under 71 in the final round of the Arkansas Collegiate to claim the individual title (146, +2), while Southern Arkansas used a score of 304 in the final 18 holes to hold off the field and defend the team tournament title on Tuesday afternoon from Mystic Creek Golf Club.

Southern Arkansas and Henderson State both shot 304 on Tuesday, while Harding's 303 was the best in round two, but it was the Muleriders' three-stroke advantage on the Reddies and five-stroke lead of the Bisons after the first 18 holes that proved to be the difference.

Along with Timmerman, who claimed the second individual title of his career by topping round one leader Ryan Camras of Harding by two strokes, two other Muleriders joined the Canadian in the top 10 of the leaderboard. Freshman Brendan Little finished tied for 6th after shooting a 77 (+5) on Tuesday to hold a two-day total of 152 (+8), while senior Calum Graham cut two strokes off Monday's 78 to finish with a 154 (+10) and tied for ninth place.

Timmerman was the lone individual in the 61-golfer field to shoot under par on par-4 scoring as he finished at -1 on such holes and he led the field in pars with 28. Graham pared 21 holes and freshman Logan Stephens added 20 to his card, while junior Garrett Davis finished with 18. Little recorded seven birdies and Davis and Timmerman each accounted for four.

Little led the field in par-5 scoring at 3-under with Davis shooting even and Timmerman, Graham, and senior Kade Johnson all posting +1. Graham posted a team-leading +1 on par-3 scoring, while Timmerman and Stephens each finished at +2.

It was the ninth round under par for Timmerman this season and it gives him 26 for his career; one back of Johnson for the career record. With the individual win, Timmerman becomes just the third golfer in SAU's Division II Era to win two or more times in a single season: Kirk Peterson (3, 2015-16) and Travis Chrietzberg (2, 2010-11).

Timmerman's final round saw him shoot even on the front nine by making par on every hole, before bookending the back nine with birdies at 10 and 18 to help suppress a bogey on hole 12 and finish at 1-under.
