RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - With all collegiate sports on hiatus, the Great American Conference looks back at some the best moments from years past.

MAY 4

2019 - Arkansas Tech and Southeastern Oklahoma State win twice to advance to the final of the abbreviated GAC Softball Championships. The Golden Suns defeat Southwestern Oklahoma State and Harding while the Savage Storm rallied in the bottom of the seventh to edge rival East Central and followed up with a 7-4 win against Ouachita. Earlier in the day, the Tigers became the first No. 8 seed to upset the top seed as they defeated Southern Arkansas 5-4 on a Leighton Withers home run in the top of the eighth inning | SEMIFINAL | FIRST ROUND
 
2019 - In day one of the GAC Baseball Championships, dominating starter pitching by Arkansas-Monticello's Hunter Huckabee, Oklahoma Baptist's AJ Merkel and Arkansas Tech's Isaac Hale carried the Weevils, Bison and Wonder Boys to wins. The three combined for to allow only three runs in 24.2 innings of work | STORY

2018 - After a rain day forced an altered GAC Softball Championship schedule, Arkansas Tech and Southern Nazarene improved to 2-0 at championships as the Golden Suns beat reigning champion Harding and the Crimson Storm handed top-seeded Southern Arkansas it first loss of the tournament. In the loss, SAU's Brooke Goad set the NCAA Division II single-season home run with her 28th of the season. SAU and Harding responded with wins in elimination games to remain alive | ATU | SNU

2017 -  On day one of the GAC Softball Championships, the top two seeds - Harding and Southern Arkansas - picked up two wins. In SAU's second game, Brooke Goad and Maddie Dow hit back-to-back home runs off Arkansas Tech Jalissa Gum in a 2-1 win. Harding's Autumn Humes improved to 28-1 with a 10-strikeout, four-hit shutout of Arkansas-Monticello. Southern Nazarene and Ouachita won the first two elimination games of the tournament. The Crimson Storm outlasted Henderson State, 2-1, in 16 innings, in the longest game in GAC Championship history | STORY

2016 - Southeastern Oklahoma State becomes the second GAC men's golf team to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships as the Savage Storm take second at the Central/Midwest Super Regionals. Zach James finishes second in the individual competition. Arkansas Tech's Bryce Burke qualifies for the National Championships as an individual | SE | ATU

2016 - Arkansas Tech's Caroline Fredensborg ties for third at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships to qualify for the National Championships as an individual. She becomes the first GAC woman to make the Nationals as an individual since 2013 | STORY
 
2015 - On day three of the GAC Baseball Championships, Southern Arkansas wins a pair of elimination games to advance to the final. The Muleriders eliminate Ouachita and hand Henderson State its first loss of the event. Southeastern Oklahoma State rallies from a three-run deficit to knock out Harding, 4-3 to remain alive | STORY

2015 - Arkansas Tech improves by 23 shots to move up from seventh to fourth after two round of the NCAA Division II Super Region #3 Championships. Rebecka Surtevall cards a 2-over par 74 to move up into a tie for third | STORY

2015 - Savage Storm freshman Zach James shoots a 4-under 68 to pace Southeastern Oklahoma State to first place after 18 holes of the Central/Midwest Super Regionals. Four GAC schools rank in the top 10 after the opening round | STORY

2014 - In the opening round of NCAA Division II Super Region #3 Championships, Arkansas Tech's Rebecka Surtevall finishes as the only player to break par with a 1-under 71. The Golden Suns share the team lead with Central Oklahoma | STORY

2014 - One day after seeing its 22-game win streak halted, Arkansas Tech staves off elimination at the GAC Baseball Championships with a 16-3 win against Southwestern Oklahoma State. In game two, SAU totals eight extra-base hits in a 15-10 elimination game win against Ouachita. Harding moves to 2-0 after another dominant pitching performance. Collin Campbell throws 7.0 shutout innings in a 5-0 win against Arkansas-Monticello | STORY

2013 - Two lower seeds - Arkansas-Monticello and Henderson State - earn wins on the first day of the GAC Baseball Championships. The Weevils defeat SWOSU, 19-7, in what remains the highest-scoring game in tournament history. All nine starters score a run and eight drive in a run. The Reddies' Nathan Eller pitches into the ninth inning for a 6-3 win against Arkansas Tech. Southern Arkansas, the top seed, rallies for a 9-6 win against Harding | UAM | HSU | SAU

2012 - The top two seeds - Southern Arkansas and Southeastern Oklahoma State - pick up one-run wins in day one at the GAC Baseball Championships. The Muleriders defeat Henderson State, 7-6, with a Brady Capshaw sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Savage Storm win the only 1-0 game in tournament history as Brandon Marris records a two-hit shutout. In game three, Arkansas Tech scores four times in the 11th inning for an 8-4 win against SWOSU | SAU | SE | ATU
