SOUTHEASTERN ADVANCES TO #theGAC WOMEN'S TENNIS FINAL

 BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern Oklahoma State made its fourth finals appearance in the last five Great American Conference Women's Tennis Tournaments after downing Arkansas Tech 4-0 on Friday afternoon at the Memorial Park Tennis Complex in Bentonville, Ark.

The Savage Storm will advance to face Harding in the final at 11 a.m. Saturday morning in a meeting betwween two of the seven teams "under consideration" for the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships.

The win improves SE to 14-8 on the season heading into the conference final on a three-match winning streak.

Southeastern jumped to an early lead by taking the doubles point, a charge led by the duo of Elizaveta Tregubova and Vanessa Nitu who cruised to a 6-0 win at number three doubles.

Zulay Castaneda and Vanessa Cozamanis clinched the doubles point by pulling out a 6-2 win at one doubles.

In singles play it was the lower half of the Storm lineup that did the heavy lifting.

That Started with Cozamanis in the six position who shutout her opponent 6-0, 6-0 to stretch the lead to 2-0.

The success then climbed the lineup card as India Shiaelis followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the five position.

Tregubova would then close the door with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at number four to clinch the 4-0 victory.
Arkansas Tech 4, Ouachita 1

No. 3 Arkansas Tech won their GAC Tournament First Round match against No. 6-seed Ouachita, 4-1, on Friday morning,

The Golden Suns got off to a 1-0 lead in the match with their top-two doubles pairings making quick work of the Tigers. Aastha Dargude and Megan Bell were the first to win at No. 2 doubles, 6-1. Daniela Baez and Lea Grinberg were not far behind at No. 1 doubles, winning 6-2. The No. 3 doubles match featuring Isabell Major and Addison Masters was left unfinished.

In singles play, the Tigers got their lone point of the match with a win at No. 6 singles. Dargude quickly won her match at No. 2 singles and put the Golden Suns up 2-1 in the match. Baez and Grinberg then followed suit winning their matches in straight sets to clinch the match for the Golden Suns.
