RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s third GAC/MIAA Men’s Soccer Player of the Week awards of the 2021 season. Northeastern State’s Sam Scarth earned Offensive Player; Rogers State’s Michael Turner and Declan Declan Viljoen earned the Defender and Goalkeeper honors.

GAC/MIAA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Sam Scarth, Northeastern State, M, So., Liverpool, England
Scarth came off the bench and produced the 30th hat trick in RiverHawks history and the 14th in GAC history in a 7-1 win against Saint Martin's. He also had two assists to finish with eight points, to match the highest single-game total in league history against a Division II opponent.

GAC/MIAA DEFENDER OF THE WEEK – Michael Turner, Rogers State, Sr., Romford, England
As part of Hillcats producing a 1-0-1 week, Turner played 196 minutes on the backline and anchored the Hillcat defense that surrendered only two goals and allowed a total of 11 shots on goal. In the 1-0 double overtime win against UT Tyler, he made an excellent play in front of the goal to keep the Patriots off the board.
