 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the ninth Men’s Soccer weekly awards for the 2022 season. Newman’s Austin Madubuike and Rogers State’s George Robinson shared Offensive Player; Northeastern State’s Scott Woods earned Defender and Fort Hays State’s Kieran Brown claimed Goalkeeper of the Week.

#theGAC/MIAA CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Austin Madubuike, Newman, W, Jr., Toronto, Ontario, Canada
The GAC recognized the contributions Madubuike made in his first season with the Jets. Primarily a reserve, he appeared in nine games. He started three contests. He scored one goal, a 47th-minute tally in the Jets’ 3-3 tie against Ouachita Baptist, on Saturday, October 15.

#theGAC/MIAA CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – George Robinson, Rogers State, F, Jr., Maidstone, England
Robinson led the No. 25 Hillcats to a 2-0 record on the week with dominant wins against Ouachita Baptist and Harding in their final home games of the season. In the 7-0 win against the Tigers, Robinson opened the scoring with a third-minute goal. In the 5-0 win against the Bisons, he scored his third goal of the year and added an assist, his third of the season

#theGAC/MIAA DEFENDER OF THE WEEK – Scott Woods, Northeastern State, D, Sr., Tonsberg, Norway
Woods played the full 90 minutes against both Harding and Fort Hays State as the RiverHawks picked up a win and a tie to secure a spot in the GAC/MIAA Championships. In the 2-0 against the Bisons, the Northeastern State defense limited Harding to just three shots on goal. In the scoreless draw with the Tigers, the defense surrendered just five shots and only two on goal.

#theGAC/MIAA GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK – Kieran Brown, Fort Hays State, GK, Sr., Kettering, Australia
Brown registered consecutive shutouts to raise his season total to five as the Tigers picked up a crucial win against No. 19 Southern Nazarene followed by a scoreless draw with Northeastern State. Against the Crimson Storm, he made four saves. Against the RiverHawks, he registered eight saves, one off his season high.
