DIAZ'S 90TH-MINUTE GOAL SENDS BISON TO #theGAC WOMEN'S SOCCER FINAL

 WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Freshman Duschka Diaz picked an opportune time to score her first collegiate goal as Oklahoma Baptist defeated Ouachita 1-0 in the Great American Conference Tournament on Thursday.

After a Katie Fowler corner, the ball bounced around a bit and came to Diaz who shot into the left side.

Oklahoma Baptist () advances to the final for the sixth-consecutive season. The Bison will face either Northwestern Oklahoma State or host Southwestern Oklahoma State at 11 a.m. on Saturday. 

Through the first 15 minutes of the opening stanza Oklahoma Baptist controlled most of the possession. However, just one shot attempt came, a Fowler attempt at the two-minute mark. Over the remainder of the half, the Bison had some solid chances while Ouachita () didn't generate too many quality opportunities.

In the final seven minutes of the half, Kaylee Swaner and Jadynn Daggs each had on-target looks. At the 38th minute, Swaner fired from outside the 18-yard box but her attempt from the left that required a leaping save from Ouachita goalie Michelle Snow.

Daggs got in the mix with under four minutes left. as she headed pass from by freshman Krissy Fulton but the attempt towards the left post went high.

As for the Tigers, they generated four shots towards the Bison net. But none proved too difficult for Mia Pendleton as she made four saves for sixth shutout of the season and fifth in her last six starts.
