HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Henderson State built on its lead at the 2022 Great American Conference Women’s Golf Championships by again posting the low score of the round on Monday on the Park Course at Hot Springs Country Club. The Reddies finished the day 26 shots clear of second-place Arkansas Tech.

Gracen Blount, the GAC Player of the Year carded the low round of the day, a 2-under-par 70 to move into first place. She birdied the 10th and 12th holes as part of a bogey-free round. Allie Bianchi recorded an even-par round to finish in a tie for third place. She made three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 12th. Hannah Choi joined Bianchi in third place following a 1-over round. She played her final 11 holes in 2-under-par. Daphney Tilton followed up her opening round 72 with a 4-over round to close in fifth place. Karen Lee recorded a 6-over 78 to end the round in a tie for 11th.
Arkansas Tech improved its team score by nine shots on Monday. Jacqueline Klemm posted a 3-over 75 to post even par for the tournament and to finish in second place. She made three birdies; her seven birdies through two rounds lead the field. Katie Whitfield improved by six shots with 2-over 74 to move up eight positions and into a tie for ninth.
Harding passed Southwestern Oklahoma State for third place. Brenda Sanchez shot a 2-over 74 to move up to sixth place. Alicia Martinez posted a 4-over 76 to tie for ninth. SWOSU’s Rebecca Lau maintained her standing inside the top 10 as her second-round 78 left her in a tie for seventh place.
Arkansas-Monticello played four shots better as a team to remain in fifth, followed by Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Arkansas. The Blossoms’ Gabriela Maldonado shot a 3-over 75, including an even-par back nine, to move into a tie for seventh place.
Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southern Nazarene rounded out the team standings.
Tuesday’s final round begins at 8 a.m.
