GAME 6: No. 2 Southern Arkansas 7, No. 3 Harding 4
The Muleriders advanced to the title game of the GAC Softball Championships for the first time since 2017 as they defeated Harding, 7-4, thanks in large part to a six-run fourth inning.
Scoreless entering the frame, Mariah Hamilton cracked a three-run home run down the left-field line. Three batters later, Jade Miller singled home the fourth run of the frame. A Madison Miller single brought in the fifth and sixth runs.
An inning later, a Gracie King home run extended the Mulerider (37-15) advantage to 7-0. Harding (38-18) rallied in its half of the fifth inning with four runs. Hanna Jones hit a two-run inside-the-park home run down the left field line to cut the margin to 7-2. The Lady Bisons added a pair of two-out runs.
Kiana Pogroszewski pitched into the fifth inning to pick up her second win in as many days. Sydney Ward struck out three in 2.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the save.
GAME 5: No. 1 Arkansas Tech 2, No. 4 Southern Nazarene 0 (8)
The Golden Suns extended their win streak at the GAC Softball Championships to 10 consecutive thanks to extra-inning heroics from GAC Player of Year Tymber Riley and another stellar performance inside the circle from Pitcher of the Year Shannon Lasey.
Riley led off the top of the eighth inning with her 16th home run of the season. The Golden Suns (38-17) doubled their lead on a Kassie Mayberry single.
Lasey threw her second-straight shutout at the GAC Championships. In improving to 18-7, she allowed only five hits, struck out four and did not walk a batter.
The Crimson Storm (25-25) went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left multiple runners on base in three of their final four innings. Jennifer Romero suffered the loss. In a complete game, she struck out seven and walked only one
