INDIANAPOLIS - On Sunday, the NCAA announced the 28 schools selected for the Division II Football playoffs. For the sixth time in the last 11 seasons, multiple schools from the Great American Conference qualified as Harding earned the top seed in Super Region #3 and Henderson State drew a first-round date with Central Missouri.

The Bisons become the third team in GAC history to earn the top seed in a region joining Ouachita Baptist's 2014 and 2018 teams. Harding owns six of the GAC's eight all-time playoff wins.

The Bisons will host the winner of the Henderson State-Central Missouri first-round contest. The Reddies moved from outside the top 10 of region and into the playoff field thanks to their first win against rival Ouachita Baptist since 2015. This appearance represents the programs fourth trip to the DII playoffs since 2012.  They sport a 1-3 all-time record in the playoffs, defeating Sioux Falls in 2015.
