#theGAC MEN’S AND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (WEEK SIX)

 RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the men’s and women’s basketball players of the week for the sixth week of the 2023-24 season. Arkansas Tech’s Taelon Peter captured the Men’s award and the Golden Suns’ Pacious McDaniel earned the Women’s honor.

#theGAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Taelon Peter, G, Arkansas Tech, Jr., Russellville, Arkansas
Peter tallied 25 points in leading the Wonder Boys to a 69-57 win against Southern Arkansas. He scored nine points as part of Tech’s closing 26-5 run. He added five rebounds and three steals. He’s averaging a league-high 24.5 points per game in GAC play. The Wonder Boys have started 4-0 in GAC play for the first time since beginning 2010-11 with 13-straight league wins.

#theGAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Pacious McDaniel, G, Arkansas Tech, Fr., Springdale, Arkansas
McDaniel had a monster game in Tech's lone outing of the week as she scored 36 points on 14-of-20 shooting in a 95-72 home win against Southern Arkansas. The 36 points established a season high and represented the most by a Division II freshman this season. She added eight rebounds, four blocks and two assists. Her 21.8 points per game ranks second in Division II.
