SOUTHEASTERN BLANKS OUACHITA TO REACH #theGAC TENNIS SEMIFINALS

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern took the doubles point and didn't look back on its way to a 4-0 opening round win over Ouachita Baptist at the Great American Conference tournament on Friday afternoon in Bentonville, Ark.
The win lifts the Savage Storm to 7-12 overall on the season and advances them to the semifinals of the tournament to face Southern Arkansas at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
Chiara Matteodo and Vanessa Nitu would push SE halfway to the doubles point as they would pick up a 6-2 win over OBU's Shelly Davilus and Taylor Hansard at number three doubles.
Sara Gonzalez and Georgia Hosking would clinch the doubles point as the duo would also pick up a 6-2 win, this time over Austynn Crocker and Natalia Zamora at number one doubles.
Matteodo would strike first in singles play, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 win at number four over Olivia Gaston to take a 2-0 lead.
Sara Gonzalez would push the lead to 3-0 after taking her match at number three against Ali May, 6-3, 6-1.
Hosking would supply the clinching win at number two by downing the Tigers' Zamora 6-1, 7-5 to make the final 4-0.
