HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Henderson State’s Lily Nelson backed up her opening round 1-under par 71 with a sizzling 5-under 67 that tied the Great American Conference Women’s Golf Championships single-round record. She established a 10-shot lead in the individual competition and the No. 4 Reddies extended their team advantage to 26 strokes.

Nelson, the GAC Freshman of the Year, picked up seven birdies, including three straight on hole 11, 12 and 13. She tied the best round in tournament history, established in 2019 by Arkansas Tech’s Allie Weiner.
The Reddies hold the top three individual spots as Daphney Tilton remained in second and Jinna Boonbumroongsuk moved up five places into third. Both carded matching 3-over 75s. GAC Player of the Year Gracen Blount and Allie Bianchi finished as part of a four-way tie for eighth.
Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Megan Brown moved into the top five as her second round 4-over 76 left her in fourth place. Her teammate, Drew Dodgion, rounded out the top five.
Harding posted the second-best team score of the day to climb three places and into third. The Lady Bisons’ Alicia Martinez made the biggest leap up the leaderboard as she cut 11 shots off of her opening round with an even par 72. She navigated from 25th into a tie for eighth. Brenda Sanchez also moved into the top 10.
Oklahoma Baptist maintained fourth position, five shots ahead of both Southern Nazarene and Arkansas Tech with Southern Arkansas closely behind. The Bison’s Hayden Meiser and the Crimson Storm’s Kendall Kerr finished the day tied for sixth as both shot 6-over 78s.
Northwestern Oklahoma State and Arkansas-Monticello rounded out the team leaderboard.
