AUGUSTA, GA -- Southern Nazarene's Lauryn Reither was named the women's basketball Division II Player of the Week by the D2CIDA. The graduate student guard led the #6/#2 Storm to a pair of come-from-behind victories with 29 points per game.
The native of Oklahoma City, Ok., scored 26 points, including 20 in the second half, against #13 Harding in a 60-51 win, adding six rebounds, four assists and three steals. She then scored a career-high 32 points, with 14 of those coming in the fourth quarter, as SNU downed Arkansas Tech 71-67. For the week she hit 53% from the field and 60% from three-point range, adding 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 4.0 assists per game.
Reither is currently ranked third in the Great America Conference in scoring and is second in field goal percentage, fourth in three-point percentage, fourth in assists and third in steals. The two wins left Southern Nazarene as the lone unbeaten team in the GAC at 8-0 in league play and 14-0 overall.
