ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita women's soccer team is back in the finals of the Great American Conference Championship Tournament following a 3-2 double-overtime victory over Southern Nazarene on Friday at Kluck Field.

Teagan Jaussi scored the game-winner midway through the second overtime period on a direct free kick just outside the box in the middle of the field following a foul by the Crimson Storm. It was Jaussi's team-high sixth goal of the season.

After an offense-heavy first half with four goals combined, both teams slowed the pace in the second half to a more defensive strategy that extended into the overtime periods.

The game's scoring started less than a minute into the first half when a booming free kick from Abbey Cowgill near midfield found Madi Vana for a diving header goal in front of the net. It was the first goal and assist of the season for Vana and Cowgill.

Vana's goal was also the fastest score in GAC tournament history and the only one in the first minute.

Ouachita went up 2-0 in the 26th minute on a goal from Allison Reece, which was a hard strike to the left side that was spilled into the net by the SNU goalkeeper. It was Reece's fifth goal of the year.

SNU equalized the score with goals coming less than a minute apart. The first was in the 35th minute on a long shot in the middle of the field by Natalie Montanez. A minute later, a backward pass from a Ouachita defender slipped past the goalkeeper into the net for an own goal.

The Crimson Storm led 22-21 in total shots. Ouachita led 8-7 in shots on goal.

Ouachita is back in the GAC championship game for the second straight year after winning the title last year in Shawnee. The Tigers are set for a rematch of last year's championship contest, taking on Oklahoma Baptist on Sunday, November 17. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Kluck Field. Oklahoma Baptist advanced to this year's finals with a 3-2 shootout victory over Harding on Friday after a 1-1 stalemate at the end of double-overtime.
