LOWELL, Ark. – Southeastern opened its semifinal match by taking the doubles point and would proceed to punch its ticket to the Great American Conference Tournament final with a 4-2 victory over Harding on Friday evening in Bentonville, Ark.
The Savage Storm improve to 17-7 on the season and advance to Sunday's final for a rematch versus No. 15 Southern Arkansas at noon in Bentonville, Ark.
Sara Gonzalaz and Georgi Hosking would get the Storm started at the one position in doubles play, topping HU's number one duo of Romane Britt and Karli Roux 6-2.
Just minutes later Larissa Giraldi Correa and Jou Chen Chen would secure the doubles point with a 6-3 win at number two over Georgia Plunkett and Alexia Zarate Valdez.
Milana Voloshyn would stretch the lead to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Britt at number four singles.
Amishi Shukla would push the advantage to 3-0 by picking up a straight-set win over Sofia Sarmiento Ruiz at the five spot, 6-3, 6-4.
HU would pick up wins at number two and three singles, closing the score to 3-2.
That was as close as the Bisons would get though as Vanessa Nitu would pick up a three-set win at the number one position, downing Grace Dodd 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 for a 4-2 victory.
