RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the volleyball players of the week for the sixth week of the season. Arkansas Tech’s Savannah Meyer and Southern Arkansas’ Brinklee Dauenhauer shared Offensive Player of the Week SAU’s Brinklee Dauenhauer earned Defensive Player of the Week; Harding’s Olivia Wiedower and Ouachita Baptist’s Courtney Hanson shared Setter of the Week.
#theGAC VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Savannah Meyer, OH, Arkansas Tech, Jr., Lake St. Louis, Missouri
Meyer paced the Golden Sun offense in sweeps against Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist. She notched 11 kills and hit .476 against the Crimson Storm. She followed up with 14 kills and 11 digs against the Bison, for her fifth double-double of the season. She hit .423. The Golden Suns secured their first sweep of the Bison since October 2021.
#theGAC VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Brinklee Dauenhauer, OH, Southern Arkansas, Jr., Springtown, Texas
Dauenhauer averaged 3.92 kills and 4.29 points per set as SAU collected wins against Central Baptist, Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central. In the five-set triumph against the Savage Storm, she tied the school record for kills in a match, 28, and she broke the record for attempts, 76. Against the Tigers, she tallied 16 kills and 23 digs.
#theGAC VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Sadie Kabisch, L, Southern Arkansas, Sr., Henrietta, Texas
Kabisch averaged a conference-leading 7.11 digs per set in Mulerider victories against Southeastern and East Central. She established the GAC high for digs in a five-set match when she amassed 44 against the Savage Storm. The 44 digs equal the second-most in a Division II contest this season. She added seven assists. She followed up with 20 digs against the Tigers.
#theGAC VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK – Olivia Wiedower, S, Harding, Jr., Conway, Arkansas
Wiedower paced the GAC in assists per set, 13.14, as the Lady Bisons defeated Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene to extend their win streak to five. She doled out 54 in a four-set win against the Bison to match the GAC high for assists in a four-set match. One day later, she collected 38 assists and 14 digs in a sweep of the Crimson Storm.
#theGAC VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK – Courtney Hanson, S, Ouachita Baptist, Sr., Arlington, Texas
Hanson became just the third setter in GAC history to reach 4,000-assists in a career. In pushing the Tigers to 7-0 in league play, she averaged 12.43 assists per set against Southwestern Oklahoma State and Northwestern Oklahoma State. She totaled 42 assists and 12 digs against SWOSU. She set the GAC season high for assists in a three-set match, 45, against the Rangers.
