SHAWNEE, Okla. — The No. 2 seeded Harding volleyball team displayed dominant form Thursday, sweeping No. 7 seed Henderson State 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-19) in the opening round of the Great American Conference Volleyball Tournament at FireLake Arena.

It was Harding's eighth straight win and improves the Lady Bisons' record to 24-4 overall while Henderson State concludes its season at 15-16.

Harding advances to the semifinals and will take on No. 3 seed Southwestern Oklahoma at 2 p.m., Friday. The Lady Bisons are making their 13th appearance in the tournament and hold a 24-9 record.

Harding's defense held the Reddies to a .037 team hitting percentage.

Harding's quick triumph was fueled by balanced production, with five players registering seven or more kills.

• Middle Blocker Philomina Klotz led the Lady Bisons with 11 kills, hitting a highly efficient .417 for the match. She also contributed four blocks.
• Outside Hitter Josie Bishop recorded 10 kills and captured a double-double with 12 digs.
• Outside Hitter Jacey Lambert posted nine kills with a .263 hitting percentage and three blocks.
• Setter Olivia Wiedower guided the offense with 37 assists, chipping in three kills and six digs.
• Carter Fouche anchored the defense with a team-high 16 digs. Maddie Burrough also had 12 digs for Harding.

Set 1 (Harding 25, Henderson State 12)

The Lady Bisons opened with a stunning offensive clinic, hitting .500 for the set with 18 kills. Harding erupted for a 5-0 run to start the match, fueled by three kills and two service aces from Maddie Burrough. The Reddies were unable to recover, as Klotz and Bishop helped extend the lead to 13-4. Harding's control was absolute, and Jacey Lambert finished the frame, 25-12, on a kill off a Wiedower set.

Set 2 (Harding 25, Henderson State 20)

Henderson State took a 7-5 early lead in the second set. However, the Lady Bisons quickly applied the defensive pressure. Trailing 11-9, Harding went on a 4-0 run to lead 13-11. Leading 19-18, the Lady Bisons went on a 5-0 run on three kills to lead 24-18. An Ella Drake kill gave Harding the set 25-20. The Lady Bisons forced 11 Henderson State attack errors in the set.

Set 3 (Harding 25, Henderson State 19)

Trailing 6-5 in the third set, Harding went on a 4-0 run to lead 9-6. Henderson State battled back to pull within one, 13-12 but Harding went on an 8-2 run on four kills to lead 21-14. A kill by Klotz gave Harding the set 25-19.
