SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma Baptist turned in one of its most commanding performances of the season, sweeping Arkansas Tech 25–12, 25–16, 25–17 on Thursday at FireLake Arena in a Great American Conference Tournament match. With the win, the Bison improved to 20–9 and moved into the semifinal round where they'll face top-seed Ouachita tomorrow at 5 p.m.

From the opening serve, OBU controlled the pace behind an efficient offense that hit .319 as a team. Rylee Unruh powered the attack with a match-high 16 kills on .342 hitting while adding 12 digs, two blocks and an ace for 18 points. Mackenzie Frazee was dominant in the middle, posting 11 kills on a blazing .588 percentage and contributing two blocks. Melody Donegan added eight kills, and Allie Stricker chipped in six more as the Bison spread the offense effectively.

Setter Emily Boyer steered the attack with 26 assists and a service ace. Defensively, libero Karsyn Hunter anchored the back row with a team-high 23 digs, helping limit Tech to just .063 hitting for the match. OBU recorded 65 total digs and out-blocked the Golden Suns 11–4, led by Addison Dale's three block assists and Lillian Noble's four total blocks.

Arkansas Tech struggled to find rhythm against the Bison defense. Henley Hooks led the Golden Suns with eight kills, while Erika Hernandez and Amy Hernandez added five apiece. Setter Emma Kiser totaled 16 assists, but Tech's offense never fully settled in, hitting .000 in the opening set before improving slightly in the later frames.

OBU's decisive first-set win set the tone, as the Bison hit .368 in the opening frame and never trailed by more than a single point the rest of the night. The Bison closed each set with scoring runs that kept momentum firmly on their side.

Friday's semifinal match with Ouachita will be the second meeting this season between the two teams. Back on Oct. 24, the Tigers won in Arkadelphia in five sets.
