 SHAWNEE, Okla. – Ouachita Baptist finished the second day of the 2025 Great American Conference Women’s Track & Field Championships atop the team standings following strong performances in the distance events.

Kate Nachtigal won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with Elise Knight taking second and Macie Cash finishing fourth. The Tigers collected 19 points in the 10,000-meter run as Mackenzie Davis finished second, Allison Hylkema placed third and Emelia Eriksson claimed fifth.

Southern Arkansas sits in second, 19 points behind the Tigers. Irieyanna Wilson captured a win in the shot put with a top throw of 14.22 meters, the second-best attempt in Championship history.

Oklahoma Baptist, the three-time GAC champions, reside in third. The Bison’s Sophia Strange won the 10,000 for the fourth-straight year. Anisha Henderson captured her third long jump title. Altyn Bartley set a meet record in the hammer throw, 53.63 meters.

Harding ended in fourth. Karyna Vehner won the pole vault after she cleared 3.65 meters.

Southern Nazarene’s Abriel Thrash captured the heptathlon for the third-straight year. She took first in the high jump, shot  put, the 200 and the long jump. The Crimson Storm ended in fifth followed by Northwestern Oklahoma State. The Rangers Ashley Low won the javelin.

Southeastern Oklahoma State, Arkansas Tech, Southwestern Oklahoma State and East Central rounded out the team standings.

Friday features the field events of the high jump, discus and triple jump. On the track, finals include the 5,000, the 4x100-meter relay, the 1,500, the 110-meter hurdles, the 400, the 100, the 400-meter hurdles, the 200 and the 4x400 meter relay.
